(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 26 – A rainbow of cities to say “Let’s stop the wars, the time for peace is now”. Thus, as in 6 other Italian municipalities, pacifists are also marching in the capital today. The square promoted by Europe for Peace, the Italian Peace and Disarmament Network, the PerugiAssisi Foundation for the culture of peace, AssisiPaceGiusta, Sbilanciamoci, is supported by over 350 civil society organizations. Hundreds of demonstrators arrived at Piramide in Rome for the national anti-war day, waving the flags of peace, those of the Anpi and the CGIL and who will arrive in procession up to the Colosseum. “We are Jews and Palestinians, we are Russians and Ukrainians, humanity has no borders,” reads one banner. A national mobilization to ask for a ceasefire in the Middle East, in Ukraine and in all armed conflicts in the world. At the start of the procession there was also a large Palestinian flag held by the activists. In addition to the general secretary of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini, several political representatives were present, including Avs representatives Nicola Fratoianni and Angelo Bonelli.
