The tweet caused a wave of indignation on Twitter, on the evening of Saturday, December 18, 2021. In a context where Algeria was crowned champion of Arab Nations Cup, scenes of jubilation from football supporters, especially in the streets of Paris, were relayed on Twitter. the militant Nationa rallyFrédéric Groussard, who was a candidate in the municipal elections of the Havre (Seine-Maritime) in 2020, then found himself at the heart of a lively controversy: a tweet was published by his account of the order of a call for crime against the Algerian community, in response to one of the celebratory videos. Later in the evening, Frédéric Groussard defended himself from being the author.
“I discovered the tweet and immediately deleted it”
The message, which Frédéric Groussard affirms that it appeared following a piracy of his account, mentions the use of “12.7”, a powerful machine gun, to “be quiet”. This content, which shocked Internet users, was taken up en masse on Twitter. Now, joined by 76 news Sunday, December 19, Le Havrais maintains that it has nothing to do with this publication, which has now been deleted. “It was my political hierarchy who informed me in the evening. I discovered the tweet and immediately deleted it. I responded with a denial instead, to make things clear, ”he says.
The explanation, however, does not convince everyone. “My community believes me, people who know me believe me,” continues Frédéric Groussard. On Twitter, I only go there to relay things, or I ‘copy and paste’ shares from Facebook. ”
Regarding the possible complaints that could be filed against him, the activist says he is ready to face them, before concluding that he has since changed his passwords on various social networks.
