Catholic Academy significantly increases range
The past year was a particularly successful one for the Catholic Academy in Frankfurt. In 2022, it was able to significantly increase its reach with its offers. A quarter of a million people took part in events in the Haus am Dom and via YouTube as well as on podcast channels such as Spotify and Amazon Music or iTunes. In 2021 there were 145,117 people.
“We see this as proof that the way of streaming a large part of our events live and making them permanently accessible to everyone is still the right one,” said Joachim Valentin, Director of the Haus am Dom and the Catholic Academy .
According to the Haus am Dom, the basis for the massive growth in reach was YouTube with 222,352 clicks. The video for the event “The end of capitalism: Why growth and climate protection are incompatible” with the journalist Ulrike Herrmann from September 27, 2022 had been clicked on a remarkable 104,393 times in just three months by the end of the year.
12,732 visitors attended the events of the Catholic Academy, 4,950 in 2021, when visits were only possible to a limited extent due to the corona pandemic. A total of 323,760 people took part in Academy offers, external events and conferences in the Haus am Dom, either directly or online.
1100 events took place there last year, over 400 of them by external organizers alone. Managing Director Andrea Hörner was pleased that the Haus am Dom was still in demand with external organizers: “Even though the conference and event culture is still in the process of gathering itself again after years of corona restrictions,” she said.
