A punk rock selection will be presented with the concert on Ādmiņu Street

For the ninth time, a selection of Latvian “punk/hc” music, made by the leader of the band “Innokentijs Marpls” Raimonds Lagimovs aka Dambis, was published.

This Saturday, October 26, a punk rock selection show will be held at the concert center on Ādmiņu street, where the groups “Gerārijs”, “Depustūtes”, “Johnny & the Burnouts”, “Skala bunte” and “Calico” take the stage.

The collection “Latvijas Punk / HC No. 9” collects 30 songs of 30 bands, and is a retrospective and takes a look back at the activity, sound and even novels of the local “punk / hc” scene, as well as a kind of report on the activity of “punk” music in Latvia.

The selection includes the groups “Fad Day Long”, “Orange Holidays”, “Innokentys Marples”, “PND”, “Ghettozloba”, “ŠŅK”, “Depustudes”, “Grēgigie partizāni”, “Have Or Heroes”, etc. Most of the songs were recorded between 2022 and 2024, but there are also compositions that were recorded earlier. For example, the song “Ārprāts” by the group “Ārprāts”, recorded in 1985, as well as the 1992 piece “Grāraču svetvakars” by the Limbaž association “Tikai melns” or “Only Black “.

The selection was compiled by Raimonds Lagimovs or Dambis, the leader of the group “Inokentijs Marpls”, the creator of the Latvian music program “Bitīt matos” on the radio “Naba”, who started to create this selection series in 2002. The last compilation was released in 2020. The recording is accompanied by a booklet, which summarizes brief information about the bands included in the sample in transparent format, so the booklet is a tangible testimony of Latvian non-commercial music movement.
