A 72-year-old Gabrovka woman was cheated yesterday afternoon by an unknown woman, the police reported. The pretend witch convinced the old woman that someone had done black magic on her. The two women went to the home of the victim, where a ritual was to be performed to break the spell. The fraudster asked the grandmother for all her money and jewels. According to her, the more they were, the faster the magic would be neutralized. The old woman gave all her possessions, and the fortune-teller tied them in a bundle and said that it must not be opened for the next three hours, and left. The grandmother later discovered that the contents of the bundle had been replaced. She told the police that she gave BGN 600, gold coins – pendars, three napoleons, and 100 dollars.
