A protester was hanged in Iran Iran starts the executions by hanging the first protester

Tehran: Iran has hanged a person involved in the protest against the hijab. The Judiciary’s online website reported that Muhsin Shikari was hanged after injuring a security officer with a stick during a strike at Sattar Khan Road on 25 September.

The court said the defendant attempted to kill the security officer and disturbed law and order. However, human rights organizations responded that executing Muhsin Shikari through a mock trial would have an international impact.

This is the first execution carried out in Iran in relation to the protests that erupted after the death of Mahsa Amini, taken into custody by the religious police. The court sentenced 11 people to death.
