The general director of Aransa, promoter of the Novelty Plaza residential complex, José Miguel Arambarri, explained that the fact that the development is in the heart of the Old Town of Logroño was an opportunity to do “something different” and take advantage of it to print positive messages and, at the same time, “break” with the gray of the garages.
“Something that people might like when they get up in the morning, or when they come home with the car” or the bike, because the parking lot has a space for bikes.
An evolution of architecture applied to garages: “We wanted to do it to break with the classic of the downtown area, that not everything has to be so orthogonal and Cartesian and because, culturally, something can be done that follows the latest trends in the street art “.
“We thought it could rhyme,” said Arambarri. In this way, the muralist Noelia Escalera has created six large murals on the walls of the garage of the Residencial Novelty Plaza, which the developer is about to finish in Plaza Martínez Zaporta.
The large murals (between twelve and 45 square meters) have motifs inspired by nature, great colors and inspiring messages: breathe, feel, love, dream … Their size and the possibility of printing a positive message was what conquered the author.
“It is a project that I fell in love with, he just told me because we had the ability to surprise,” he said while affirming: “I saw it very successful, it is like the first time they take a graffiti to a museum, that You say oysters like they haven’t done it before. “
Arambarri has pointed out how, at the same time, it has been provided with lighting and air, with an opening, all seeking a “different touch”. In this sense, he recalled how on a trip to Mexico he was in a hotel where the garage looked like the hotel hall.
It is joined by a space for bikes in the same garage. He believed that it is something that is going to start “moving” within the building, “because if we want to promote the use of bicycles, we have to make them more accessible”.
Garages, Escalera has acknowledged, “are usually grayer places, it seems like it doesn’t belong to anyone” so she thought: “Why not” and, to use the phrases, she thought “in language for the soul, that nature catches the letters “.
