Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano believes Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard could double in value by next year’s transfer window.
Speaking on his “Here We Go” podcast, Romano revealed Arsenal’s line of thinking when it comes to their biggest summer transfer signing.
“It was the only name. It was first position (Martin) Odegaard, second position Odegaard, third position Odegaard. Odegaard was the only one they wanted,” Romano said.
“So, congratulations to Arsenal. And they are very happy with Odegaard. The strategy has been perfect, and they are convinced that they spent 35 million euros (41 million dollars) but this player will be worth maybe double in a few months, so this it is what they expect from Odegaard ”.
The master of rumors and transfer moves also mentioned that Real Madrid was not interested in selling Odegaard at all, until the end of August, when Arsenal were able to remove Odegaard from Real Madrid.
Arsenal’s interest in permanently signing the 22-year-old attacking midfielder began when they were able to give him a test run last season on a loan deal.
He scored his first goal with a solo shot from outside the box in a 3-1 win at Olympiacos in their first match of the Europa League round of 16.
This season, Odegaard has already appeared in three games for Arsenal and scored this beautiful goal on a free kick against Burnley, giving them their second victory in the English Premier League.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and the entire Arsenal management group have been criticized for their decision to sign young players during the summer window.
Fans believed they weren’t thinking of winning because of those decisions, but the club finally found its footing after beating Norwich on September 11 at home.
As for Odegaard, there is reason to believe that it can double in value.
The 22-year-old has been compared to Mesut Ozil in the past, and if he adapts to Arteta’s training and helps Arsenal once again become a relevant force in the Premier League, then the club would be right to believe in him. .
Odegaard and Arsenal have momentum on their side as I welcomed Harry Kane and Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday 26th September.
