A priest from the Salesianos de Vigo school faces more than 67 years for child abuse | Radio Vigo

Next week, the fourth section of the Provincial Court of Pontevedra will host the trial against Segundo CV, a professor at the Salesianos de Vigo College, who faces a request for more than 67 years in prison accused of sexually abusing various minors.

The process will start on Tuesday and will run until Thursday of the next week, starting at 10:00 am.

The investigation, conducted by the examining court number 4 of Cambados (Pontevedra), determined that the alleged abuses occurred between July 15 and 23, 2019 in Cambados, during a summer camp run by this priest, which was organized by the school, through the Abertal youth association.

The judge considered that there are indications that this priest, in order to satisfy his sexual appetite and to violate the sexual freedom and indemnity of people under 16 years of age that you were in charge of, carried out fondling on the genitals of the children.

Specifically, he believes that he abused two minors during a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in April 2019, and one of those minors he also suffered touching at summer camp. On the other hand, he also points out in his car that, in June of that year, he allegedly abused a minor who went to the Abertal youth association to watch the Champions League final match.

Segundo CV was arrested in July 2019, after complaints from several minors, and the Salesianos de Vigo College removed him from his duties.

After the first proceedings, the priest entered prison and, although his defense srepeatedly requested his release, the courts denied it, until the spring of last year.

In March 2020, the investigating court denied the release from prison, but the defense of the priest filed an appeal and this was partially upheld by the Provincial Court, so that it decreed provisional release, under bail of 12,000 euros, along with other measures, such as the withdrawal of the passport, weekly appearances in court and the prohibition of approaching the victims
