“A price of 100 million is a barrier to my transition”

Shakhtar’s Ukrainian full-back Mikhail Mudryk commented statements by Sergey Palkin and Darijo Srna that its value is 100 million euros:

Yes, I read this interview. When I found out my price, I was not only surprised but shocked. I have a long-term contract with Shakhtar, I give all my strength and energy for Shakhtar to achieve maximum results.

I really hoped that with my game I would be of great benefit to Shakhtar and that clubs in the top European leagues would be interested in me. I spoke to my agent and I know that in the summer there were several offers for me from clubs in the top European leagues, but the club has decided not to let me leave. I took it as absolutely normal, because I fully trust the Shakhtar management.

You see, I have all the respect for the Ukrainian league, but every footballer has a dream of playing in a top club and top division – I am no exception. But I’m 100% sure that a player from the Ukrainian championship is unlikely to be bought for 100 million. Sergei Anatolyevich says the time will come. Maybe you’re right. But I have my opinion that for such an amount this time will not come soon, and maybe never.

After reading the CEO interview, I won’t hide it, I was very upset. The amount of 100 million poses an obstacle to my move to the top division, which I dreamed of so much. I can’t say my dream was killed, but hurt, that’s for sure. But I’m a professional, I’m a Shakhtar player, we have some tough league games left to win and I’ll do my best for that.”
