A pregnant woman with coronavirus has died at a hospital in Blagoevgrad, bTV reported. The director of the medical institution confirmed the information.
The woman was admitted 3 days ago and was placed directly in the intensive care unit. Specialists were consulted and the option of transporting the patient for treatment in a Sofia hospital was commented. Today, however, she has lost the battle for her life.
According to struma.com, the victim of the coronavirus is from Razlog. The woman is 42 years old and this is her second pregnancy.
She was five months pregnant. She was hospitalized in a very serious condition and was immediately transferred to intensive care, where her condition worsened with each passing day.
Another pregnant woman has Covid-19 at a local hospital. Her condition is stable so far and is improving.
“In” Mother’s Home “we notice a clear increase in cases of pregnant women with COVID-19. We currently have about ten pregnant women and women in labor. In the last week alone, several women with coronavirus gave birth in the hospital,” the hospital’s director Prof. Ivan Kostov. “However, we cannot say that we are seeing more severe cases at the moment in the Mother’s Home. We have more, but this does not affect the severity of the flow,” he explained.
His advice to pregnant women who get sick is not to panic.
