A 35-year-old woman who was in an advanced state of pregnancy has died and two men have been seriously injured in an accident that took place last night. head-on collision between a truck and two cars. one of them was traveling in the opposite direction along the AP-68 highway near the municipality of Navarrete, in La Rioja. It also indicates that the alleged cause of the accident “returned a positive result in the alcohol test carried out by the Civil Guard” and in the initial drug test carried out by the authorities.
At 9:53 p.m., an accident was reported at PK 124.8 (Navarrete) due to a head-on collision between two cars and a truck, leaving the road closed.
After calls from several individuals about the accident, the SOS Rioja Emergency Service has mobilized Logroño Firefighters, the Civil Guard, Emergency Resources of the Rioja Health Service and the AP-68 Control Post.
As the Delegation’s story continues, the Traffic patrols that went to the scene initially found three people trapped, a pregnant woman in very serious condition and two men in serious condition. For this reason, the Firefighters have needed to carry out decarceration work.
The three people needed to be evacuated to the Emergency Service of the San Pedro Hospital. Subsequently, it was learned that The woman who was in advanced pregnancy and the baby she was carrying has died. The woman was 35 years old and lived in Logroño.
Work is underway to determine the causes of the accident. At the moment it is unknown why this car was traveling in the opposite direction of the road. The car has traveled at least ten kilometers in the opposite directionand could have left during a previous exit to the scene of the accident.
The Government Delegation has indicated that the person responsible for the accident was traveling alone in his vehicle, while the deceased was traveling as co-pilot in another, leaving the driver injured.
