An Afghan woman gave birth to a healthy baby on board a plane of the Turkish national airline Turkish Airlines, BTA reports, citing Turkish television NTV and CNN-Turk.
The plane was flying to evacuate Afghan citizens and was en route from Dubai to Birmingham. During the flight, the pregnant Afghan Soman Nuri began to give birth.
There were no doctors on board and several flight attendants formed a team to assist Nuri in the birth. The 26-year-old woman’s baby was born without any problems.
The condition of the baby and the mother was assessed as good, but the plane landed in Kuwait, where the mother and the newborn were examined by doctors. Shortly afterwards, the plane took off with Nuri and the baby for Birmingham.
The child was baptized by the happy parents with the name Havva.
