A possible treatment against Covid 19?

For a while now, a health crisis has shaken the whole world without sparing anyone. Indeed, this very contagious virus has hit the entire world population, especially adults, without of course forgetting people of the 3rd age who are the most affected. Many preventive measures have been called upon to follow by the population to limit the spread of the virus.

However, what about treatments for Covid 19? This question, which has remained unanswered for a long time, could today be resolved by a new remedy, ivermectin. Find out in this article everything there is to know about this product that could potentially save more than just one life?

What does ivermectin know?

Ivermectin can be defined as an antiparasitic which has been all the rage since the end of the 1980s. Its not least role is used in the treatment of certain diseases such as onchocerciasis which is still called “river blindness”. It is a cutaneous filariasis which owes its origin to a nematode, Onchocerca volvulus, which is transmitted to humans following a bite from a small black fly.

Please note that the WHO validates the wide-scale distribution of ivermectin deemed to be a safe drug. It was to be used in the fight against river blindness and thus improve the lives of millions of onchocerciasis victims since its introduction in 1987.

Its effectiveness is also recognized in some countries as a treatment against scabies. In April 2020, it was argued by some Australian scientists that ivermectin could indeed serve as a possible treatment for Covid-19. Today, many international publications reiterate the effectiveness of ivermectin against Covid-19, and this at all stages: both in prophylaxis, as well as in early or late treatment.

What is the benefit of ivermectin against covid 19?

To get a better idea of the role of ivermectin, it is necessary to read the report of the hearing of Dr. Pierre Kory which was held in the US Senate on December 8, 2020. Thus, it should be noted that the efficacy of this drug has been reported following:

  • Almost 24 attempts on nearly 7,825 patients using well-matched control groups
  • Nearly 20 monitored and randomized attempts
  • Publication of 12 of 24 attempts in peer-reviewed journals, 3,926 patients and the rest of the results in prepublication

It should be noted that the importance of ivermectin as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent for Covid-19 was found in another analysis of printed and pre-printed studies. At the level of patients at all stages, it was reported from the selected studies, a large number of positive results.

It should be emphasized that these results relate to the mortality rate, the reduction in clinical recovery time, the reduction in the incidence of disease progression and the reduction in the length of hospitalization for the disease. Recently, its large-scale distribution has been approved in several countries: India, Egypt, Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Macedonia and Slovakia. Here is an interesting tweet we do not know for the moment but if it is real it is clearly incredible.

Its in vitro action has been proven on viruses such as the PVR virus or that of swine rabies, an RNA virus like Covid-19. By eliminating UL42 DNA polymerase, ivermectin proves its effectiveness in almost completely eliminating the viral load of the coronavirus after 48 hours.

Another study:
According to a prospective test study conducted by Hector Carvallo in Argentina on hospital staff, the results observed are rather encouraging. Indeed, after a treatment of 12 mg of ivermectin weekly for 3 months, none of the 788 people treated developed Covid.

The approved therapeutic action?

In the onset phase, the use of ivermectin prevents the virus from entering cells, multiplying or replicating.

On the site https://c19ivermectin.com, results of 45 studies were published. In human medicine, 27 studies show positive results out of the 29 published. The 2 negative results are just inadmissible because of the methodology used. In the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents, Martin Hellwig et al pointed out that countries where Ivermectin chemoprophylaxis is administered on a large scale have a significant impact on Covid-19 contaminations.

In accordance with the first randomized study conducted by Shouman, there was the development of symptoms of Covid-19 by 7.4% of contact cases in the 2 weeks following inclusion against 58.4% in the control group. This means an 87% reduction in risk.

Regarding the second randomized controlled study by Elgazzar, it should be noted a reduction in the risk of transmission high to 80% after 2 doses of ivermectin compared to the control group

To date in France this treatment is not recognized to fight COVID-19. We can still ask the question who is researching and testing the different possible treatments against Covid in France?

Ivermectin: is it recommendable?

To date, it is still difficult to recommend the treatment of ivermectin against Covid 19, we still have to wait for other studies to confirm. Critics say studies that endorse ivermectin are seen as preprints yet to be validated by their peers. But it is important to know that in our opinion, the idea is not to choose the vaccine or a treatment for Covid. On the contrary in our opinion the vaccine and the treatment are the ingredients to eradicate the Covid 19 virus.

France must absolutely test this treatment and continue to do research. The encouraging results should be enough to launch and set up a study on ivermectin. Who is still doing treatment research in this country? This is the real question that remains to this day unanswered.

Here is also the article on the inserm site which tries to validate the ineffectiveness of ivermectin: https://presse.inserm.fr/livermectine-nouveau-traitement-miracle-contre-la-covid-19-vraiment/42011/ We don’t understand why they just took the studies that didn’t work? Are these the only studies they believe validate?
