The often pulsating and vital works of composer and conductor Christian Jost are atmospheric soundscapes. In his “BerlinSymphony” he captures the atmosphere of Berlin, in his “Nocturnal Movements” he dives together with the jazz pianist Michael Wollny in – according to Jost – in the “basin of freedom”. Among the composers who inspire him is Robert Schumann with his extreme emotional states. Jost composed his “Dichterliebe”, probing musical spaces already present in Schumann.
