A portfolio of Carrefour hypermarkets valued at 200 million has been listed on the market by Amundi.

More movement in the supermarket business. The French asset manager Amundi has put up for sale a portfolio of nine hypermarkets in the distribution chain Carrefour located in Spain and Italy for 200 million euros.

Amundi Immobilier is the division of the French giant that manages real estate assets. In Spain, the company owns several Carrefour hypermarkets in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Alcalá de Henares, Santander, Ávila and the Málaga municipality of Rincón de la Victoria.

This operation is part of the strong movement in investment in supermarkets over the last eighteen months. The investment rises to €690 million, of which 282 million are from this year, according to JLL data. This volume represented 44% of the total investment in retail.

The buyers are from local ‘family offices’ that acquire a store to large international funds that close large investment operations. In other European countries such as France, Germany and the United Kingdom, the national operators are the leading supermarket chains with a wide network of stores in their countries.
