Jakarta –
A popular patisserie has announced its closure. Operating for 5 years, this cake shop gave up not being able to pay the expensive rent.
The popularity of a shop does not necessarily help the many owners. In addition to promotions and bringing in many buyers, there are many costs that must be paid and are quite burdensome for shop owners.
Lately, many building owners have raised their rental prices along with rising prices for their daily needs. As a result, several shops that do not have their own building have to spend more money to pay rent.
Even for a shop that is already popular like this, the owner still has reservations about the high rent. Unexpectedly, the official announcement of the closing of this shop breaks the hearts of its customers.
Quoting Must Share News (3/4) a cake shop named DP Creations suddenly announced the official closure of its shop. This patisserie has been popular as a serving of the most delicious pies at Circuit Road Hawker Centre, Singapore for the last 5 years.
The shop owner named Daniel revealed that there were several reasons why he finally closed his shop. Increasingly expensive rents make it difficult for Daniel to balance expenses and income.
Even though his wife’s pies are selling well, if he calculates the profit to pay rent and operational costs he still suffers a loss. However, Daniel is still grateful to the loyal customers who have supported him since the shop opened.
Actually, Daniel admitted that he found it very difficult to close the pie shop that he had started from scratch. For now he just hopes that one day DP Creations can find a better place and greet its customers again.
“This decision is actually not an easy thing for our tavern to do, but it’s very unfortunate, circumstances forced everything to happen,” said Daniel.
For the past 5 years, Daniel has provided many types of pies that are always in demand among customers. There are chicken pies, beef stuffed pies, curry puffs, egg tarts to old school pastries that remind childhood memories.
The price of the cake that Daniel sells is also not too expensive. Only by paying IDR 40,000 or 3.5 Singapore dollars, you can get a pie with a dense and delicious filling.
Daniel revealed that actually this shop is not only for profit, but also for the sake of keeping traditional family recipes from disappearing. Daniel said that 5 years is not a very short time and he is grateful to have met such lovely customers.
