On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, a police officer was run over by a vehicle and seriously injured while chasing a fugitive on foot on the A15 motorway. Another official and three motorists were also injured.
The chase which took place on the night of Wednesday 9 to Thursday 10 June, around 11:30 p.m., in Aubervilliers has all the features of a Hollywood movie scene. As the site reports Actu17.fr, several police crews pursued a fleeing motorist through the city, on the A86 motorway and then on the A15. Two police officers were injured during the operation, one of them seriously, as well as three motorists involved despite themselves in this mad race.
The latter, however, began with a simple red light blown by the driver of a C3. Spotted by a vehicle from the anti-crime brigade (BAC), the man refuses police control and accelerates to enter the A86 motorway, then the A15, which he exits before taking it back to Paris. When taking the slip road, however, he attempted a maneuver by turning around but collided with a police vehicle and caused a pile-up. A policeman and three motorists were slightly injured.
A suspect on foot, a police officer knocked down
The race does not end there since the man gets out of his vehicle and continues on foot. Several officials rushed after him but one of them was brutally run over by another motorist who did not see him in the dark. The accident allowed the driver to disappear overnight, but the police officer was quickly taken care of by the SAMU. He comes out with serious injuries to his legs and one hand as well as ten stitches.
The C3 passenger, a 17-year-old minor, was stopped in the vehicle from which he did not attempt to escape. Two investigations were opened: one for refusal to comply and endangering the life of others, the other for the accident which left four injured.
