Réka Sára-Both is the mother of a six-year-old and a three-and-a-half-year-old child. Zsombor and Boglárka now go to another kindergarten in Székesfehérvár, their mother and father share their transportation between them. The – almost – first Mother’s Day was memorable for the mother: she hoped that her son would be born on Mother’s Day – which almost happened, but Zsombi decided to postpone it – so her first child was born a day after Mother’s Day. With Mother’s Day approaching, the police mother also told feol.hu about what life is like as a “mother in uniform”:
– It’s been a year since I returned to the Székesfehérvár Police Station, and I’m the chief investigator of the Criminal Division. I installed it in 2009 and returned here. I was away for more than 5 years because of the two children. I must admit, it was difficult to go back to work because a lot had changed during that time. But now I can say that I’m back in it again. I am currently dealing with online fraud. It’s a lot of work, that’s for sure!

Motherhood and police work are two separate roles, but not two separate lives: – When I’m at work, I try to concentrate as much as possible, and when we get home, I only deal with the family – she tells how she manages to perform well in all areas of life. – The police profession is a rather masculine profession, but in recent years a huge change has taken place in the police force, as more and more women have entered the profession. So we had to prepare for the related questions, which I think we succeeded in, they are very humane and flexible about the situations associated with motherhood at the Székesfehérvár Police Department. There are also mothers among our managers, so the environment is absolutely understanding – said Réka, who started work at 6 o’clock when she returned, and later this turned into 8 hours of work again.
As a mother, Réka can count herself lucky: her children are not sick, and the whole family is there to help if necessary. Being a mother and a police officer is not an insurmountable task, she admits. Moreover, as he says, the police career is a true vocation for him, just as motherhood is. You want to experience both to the fullest.
