On April 10 and 11 a on the occasion of Poetry Day, the Petőfi Parents’ House and Memorial Museum, as well as the Sándor Petőfi Evangelical Kindergarten, Primary School, High School and Technical College in Kiskőrö, prepared a poetry marathon and an unusual literature class.
Hungarian Poetry Day has been celebrated in Hungary since 1964 on April 11, the birthday of Attila József. On this occasion, every year they pay tribute to Hungarian poetry with evenings of literary performances, book presentations, poetry meetings and competitions.
On the occasion of this significant day, the Petőfi Orphanage and Memorial Museum prepares different programs every year, as their goal is to popularize lyre and encourage everyone to read poetry. The museum has been organizing programs on the occasion of Poetry Day for decades.
This year, interested parties were expected on two consecutive days. On April 10, at 6 p.m., he gave a lecture entitled VasútÁL(l)OMás Péter Lóránt TóthPro Cultura Hungarica and Radnóti prize-winning poet, poetry wanderer.
It is already a tradition in the life of the museum to organize a poetry marathon on Poetry Day, i.e. April 11. Kindergarten groups, school classes, and adults arrived at the institution between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., where they read or recited from our poet giants.
