A play of songs about the good soldier Šveik goes to the audience

Already this Saturday, October 8, the concert “Sveiks – then and now” will be premiered in the concert hall of Vidzeme “Cēsis”.

Valiant soldier Šveiks is a beloved Czech folk hero in Latvia, whose arrival on the stages of various theaters is always full of songs: ironic, happy, sad, full of soldiers’ humor. Šveik’s songs live on long after the show has finished its stage: “Honey, the emperor calls me to war” or “Goodbye, girls”, like others, live their lives for a long time and are sung , hum and whistle the first needs. This fall, with the song play “Šveiks – then and now” in many event venues in Latvia, the hero who will live forever will be present again.

After the Cēsis event (it is already sold out), the brave soldier plans to visit the Latgale “Gors” Embassy on October 15, the VEF Palace of Culture on October 22 (two events are also planned here – the show evening is already sold out), the Madona Culture House on October 30 and November 12 in the Rose Hall of the Olympic Center of Liepāja. With songs created by Ivars Vīgner and Valtas Pūce and suitable lyrics by Jānis Peters and Pēter Brūvers, audiences will be captivated by storyteller Valters Krauze, actor Rihards Lepers, singer Mārtiņš Kanters and a group of professional musicians led by Mārčas Auziņas with the singers Inta Gudovska, Anita Levša and Olga Stupiņa. Dancers Beāte Svarinska and Kristaps Pelēkais will also take part in the shows.
