In Vitré (Ille-et-Vilaine), a commemorative plaque was inaugurated on the station square, opposite the Odorico bar-restaurantat 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

A speech that will symbolize the Liberation of VitréThe plaque was produced by the City of Vitré at the request of patriotic associations of the territory.
It was unveiled following a speech by the mayor of Vitré, Pierre Léonardi, in the presence of Pierre Méhaignerie, Gilles Traimond, sub-prefect of Fougère-Vitré and Dominique de Legge, senator of Ille-et-Vilaine.
“I saw it when I was ten years old”

“I was in the square, I remember there were a lot of people,” recalls the 89-year-old from Vitré.
