A plan to support housing renovation in 2023

In 2023, the state is strengthening its commitment to the fight against fuel poverty. By promoting as much as possible the upgrading of the thermal sieves that make up the French housing stock, the State intends to improve the housing conditions of the French people.

To fight effectively against fuel poverty, the State has set up or made permanent aid schemes for French households.

The National Housing Agency will benefit from new financial means

2023 will be the year of housing renovation. To support these projects, the Government has announced the strengthening of the financial and human resources of the National Agency for Housing and the allocation of a specific envelope for the renovation of the thermal sieves of social landlords.

The MaPrimeRénov’ system will be made permanent

MaPrimeRénov’ also sees its sustainability confirmed for the sum of 2.5 million euros in credits from the Ministry of Energy Transition. The objective is to support the most efficient renovations and help low-income households to undertake substantial work.

Developments planned for 2023

Several changes are planned for January 1, 2023: raising the fundable ceilings, with MaPrimeRénov’ co-ownerships, from €15,000 to €25,000; the doubling of individual premiums for households with very modest and modest incomes; the revaluation of the work ceilings that can be financed with MaPrimeRénov’ Sérénité from €30,000 to €35,000 to support the most modest households in their overall renovation projects; the list of “global renovation” packages for households with intermediate and higher resources.

Restrictions on the use of gas boilers

In order to promote the use of renewable energies, MaPrimeRénov’ will no longer subsidize the purchase of gas boilers, including those with very high energy performance. There will also be a decrease in subsidies for the purchase of controlled mechanical ventilation and for the purchase of a pellet stove. In addition, the €1,000 bonus for replacing an oil or gas boiler with equipment from renewable sources will be abolished.

Increased support for social landlords

Landlords will be able to benefit from additional support for the renovation of social housing, with a specific envelope dedicated to the renovation of thermal sieves.

A greater contribution from the public authorities to the renovation of housing

In short, these measures aim to strengthen public support for housing renovation by stepping up efforts for the most efficient renovations and the most efficient households.
