The Council of Ministers adopted a decision yesterday to approve the Plan to prevent the spread of Highly pathogenic influenza by the birds in Bulgaria for the period 2024-2026.
The reason for the creation of the plan is the devastating effects of the disease on the poultry sector and the economy of the affected regions.
The analysis of the epidemiological situation for the period 2016-2023 has identified some weaknesses in the control and fight against the disease, and in this regard it is necessary to take coordinated and urgent actions that affect the competences of various institutions, departments, organizations and others related to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The main objective of the Plan is prevention, limitation of the spread and damage caused by WHI and gradual eradication, proof and acquisition of disease-free country/region status through the implementation of coordinated, widespread and systematic actions. The implementation of the planned activities requires their long-term planning and practical implementation.
