A photograph of Jean Castex taking the subway widely shared on social networks

A shot of the former prime minister sitting on a subway train has been shared more than 2,000 times and enjoyed more than 16,500 times on Twitter since it was posted late last week.

“Come on Jean Castex, it’s Friday!” It was with this humorous caption that a Twitter user named Le R posted on Twitter at the end of the week a photograph of the former Prime Minister sitting on a Paris metro train, backpack between his legs.

The snapshot, shared more than 2,000 times and enjoyed more than 16,500 times, then made his photographer, who passed through the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the National Assembly, claim that he had “broken the Internet”.

Many users have retweeted Jean Castex’s photograph with blank eyes, such as journalists Jérôme Godefroy and Michel Mompontet. The former praised the former tenant of Matignon’s “behavior as an exemplary citizen”, while the second was surprised that we find it “strange” that he found “a life like everyone else”.

Castex prefers buses and subways

In a note published in the July 3 edition, the Sunday newspaper (JDD) indicated that Jean Castex had settled in Paris and had renounced the privileges granted to former prime ministers. He has no driver, company car or bodyguard and most often travels by bus and subway in the capital, according to the weekly.

Since leaving the government, Jean Castex has notably been appointed head of the board of directors of the Agency for the financing of transport infrastructure in France (AFITF), remind him JDD. He is also president on a voluntary basis of the Fondation Agir contre l’exclusion (FACE), accompanies the general management of the Idverde company ad hoc and has returned to the Court of Auditors.
