A photo posted on Twitter reveals not only the design of Samsung’s next foldable smartphone, but also its name. It should be the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G.

In just one week, Samsung will officially present a slew of new devices, ranging from smartphones, with Galaxy Note 20, to tablets, with Galaxy Tab S7, through headphones Galaxy Buds Live and the watch Galaxy Watch 3. If most of these products have been the subject of new leaks in recent days, there is one that remained quite mysterious until today: the successor to the Galaxy Fold.
Indeed, its exact name was still unknown. If a few rumors did indicate that the device would be named « Galaxy Z Fold 2 », and if we had been able to discover some information thanks to leaked press reports, we had until then no confirmation of this information. It is now done thanks to a tweet published this Thursday on the social network by the Korean account hwangmh01.

We can discover the ignition screen of the folding smartphone – or the foldable tablet – with the name of the device: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. A name which therefore seems to confirm Samsung’s desire to make its Z range that of devices with folding screens with the Galaxy Z Flip, launched at the start of the year and available in 5G version those last weeks.
No notch, but a simple punch in the screen
In addition, the photo also allows to discover a different design for the main screen of the device. While the first Galaxy Fold had a screen cut out widely in its upper left corner by a notch, this shouldn’t be the case on the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. We can thus distinguish a small circle at the top of the right part of the screen, which seems to correspond to a punch to integrate the camera for selfies. Again, this corresponds to the various information already published about the smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G should be officially presented by Samsung on August 5, on the occasion of the Galaxy Unpacked conference from the manufacturer. For now, it is not yet clear at what price it will be marketed and when it will be launched.
