The Liège firefighters were called shortly before 8:30 p.m. for a fire in a building in rue Saint-Séverin, in the Sainte-Marguerite district. The building in question houses the Kenan grocery store on the ground floor, the owners of which live on the first floor. However, the other two floors of the building are unoccupied.
We do not yet know the cause of the disaster, which would have started at the back of the building, the firefighters are still at work to try to extinguish the flames ravaging the premises. A person was reportedly transported by ambulance, presumably intoxicated by the smoke.
