a person tested positive at the Oissel Detention Center

A case of covid was detected on Tuesday, September 1 at the Oissel Administrative Retention Center. The person was isolated, and a detection test offered to the others selected. Any new arrival at the CRA is postponed for the fortnight.

A man tested positive for Covid 19 on Tuesday, September 1 at the Administrative Retention Center in Oissel, near Rouen, and placed in isolation to receive appropriate care.
But we do not know when this person was in contact with the virus, and it is therefore desirable that all people staying at the center, detainees, police officers, associations be tested.
However, out of the 24 men currently selected, about twenty refused the test, and began a strike of meal trays.
Supported by associations for the defense of migrants, they ask to be released, arguing that the administration is not in a position to protect them.
They also fear being sent back to their country of origin, even if the health situation does not currently allow this type of transport.
The detainees also complain about their living conditions, crowded with 4 or 5 per room in a promiscuity conducive to the spread of the virus.

The CRA can accommodate 72 people, but the premises were partially emptied during confinement.
The prefecture of Seine-Maritime announced that any new arrival at the CRA was suspended for the duration of the health procedure.
