A person died in a fire in Riga

VUGD received the call to the tragic fire accident at 2.14 am. Mattresses and furniture on an area of ​​60 square meters were on fire in the basement production room of a four-story building.

During a search of the premises, the deceased was found.

Eight people were evacuated from the building. At 4:42 a.m. the fire was localized, but work at the scene is still ongoing.

Yesterday at 7:28 p.m. rescuers went to Krasta Street in Riga, where there was a diesel fuel leak from the truck’s lighthouse. The rescuers stopped the fuel leak at the scene, pumped the fuel to another fuel tank and repaired the roadway using an absorbent.

At 16:24 VUGD received a call to the Naujenes parish of the Upper Daugava region, where household goods and six square meters of hay were on fire in the kitchen of the apartment on the fourth floor of a five-story residential building.

Before the arrival of VUGD, three people evacuated from the building, while five people were evacuated by firefighters. At 5:19 p.m., the fire was extinguished.

In the past 24 hours, firefighters went to calls where a garden house, a wall, an outdoor toilet, a minibus, four passenger cars, unattended burnt food, papers and in four cases – garbage were on fire.

In total, VUGD received 47 calls last day – 15 were for firefighting, including one for firefighting, 26 were for rescue work, but six calls were false.
