A person critically injured in a traffic accident

The air ambulance and emergency services are on site.

The accident happened on national road 7 in Gulsvik. A total of six people are involved in the accident.

– It appears from the reports that we have received as a serious accident, says operations manager in the South-East police district Espen Reite.

A man in his 50s is described as critically injured and has been flown to Ullevål hospital. Another air ambulance went to the scene, but did not take any injured.

Four people were transported to Ringerike hospital by ambulance and one person received health care on site by ambulance personnel.

The police state that it was a car that collided with a truck. There are also two other cars involved in the accident.

Reite states that there are many on site and thus it takes time to get an overview of the situation.

– We are now working to take care of those who are on site, before we will go over to investigate what has happened, Reite says.

– It is too early at this time to say anything about the cause. The forensic technicians are immediately on site and the accident analysis group is also on its way. They are working to map the causal relationship, says Reite.

The road will probably be closed for several hours.

– It will take some time, and is unfortunate for those who are on an Easter outing, but that’s how it is, says the operations manager, and refers to the Norwegian Road Administration’s advice on detours.

– The accident analysis group of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has been notified and is on its way to the scene, the police write on Twitter.
