A performance with the participation of young actors is being made at the Liepāja Theater Diagnosis – Youth / Day

Performance Diagnosis – youth is created as a diploma work of young actors, and it is immediately planned to be included in the repertoire of Liepaja Theater.

“I created the show for full-fledged entry of young people into the theater with big roles and complex tasks. That’s why I chose Brukner’s play with a special level of difficulty that requires professional ability. Do not get caught up in sympathetic, organic self-image. The young actors are determined to create saturated work about young people’s passions and pain, to access the inner life of the image, to be able to fully present long and complex texts written 100 years ago, which are still so understandable because it is about youth, “says director Māra Ķimele.

This is a story about young people. About their challenges, their passions, their sexual embarrassment, their pain and their inability to cope. Regardless of the knowledge they have acquired, despite their youth and potential, they are confused, vulnerable and considered a fatal disease. As one of the heroes of the play says: “Youth is a diagnosis, a hidden threat to life, a disease that not everyone manages to survive.” They seek solace in sexual adventures, and the presence of death in their minds is also constant. Maria is preparing for a party in honor of her master’s degree, but nothing will happen as planned.

Actors Madara Vilčuka, Madara Kalna, Kintija Stūre, Agnija Dreimane, Artūrs Irbe, Kārlis Elvis Artejevs, Valts Skuja, Kārlis Ērglis and Hugo Puriņš take part in the production.

Together with the director, the performance also consists of scenographer and costume designer Kristaps Kramiņš, assistant set designer Laura Liepiņa, assistant director Mārtiņš Kalita, choreographer Kristīne Brīniņa and lighting artist Mārtiņš Feldmanis. The play was translated from German by Ingus Liniņš.

The theater reminds that in July it is possible to visit the theater in person only for those spectators who have been vaccinated against Covid-19, as well as for those spectators who have become ill with Covid-19. Upon arrival at the theater, spectators will be required to present an entrance ticket with a valid passport or ID card and a Covid-19 certificate. The entrance ticket will be valid only together with the mentioned certificate and identity document.
