The match, in which Varnsdorf had more of the game after all, was dominated for a long time by the defense led by both goalkeepers. The score changed for the first time in the 83rd minute. “Although we didn’t play our best game, we were leading until the 95th minute. Then we fall out of our starting position, lose a few fights and in the end we already put it out at the last minute. In the first half we wanted to try a few changes in the structure and formation. However, it didn’t work out very well for us. We entered the second half differently and it was better. We were creating space, getting into the attack. There were opportunities, we could have scored more goals,” Luboš Loučka, coach of Sparta B, sadly assessed the match.
“We successfully managed the match against the B team Sparta. In the first half, we were probably more active and had two or three interesting chances. Unfortunately, we didn’t use them. Sparta had one big opportunity there, luckily we blocked it. The second half was not optimal. We left physically and in the end we conceded from the stop. Fortunately, we showed will and tried to equalize. It all resulted in a penalty which Ambi converted. Considering the match, we take the point,” Varnsdorf captain Matěj Kubista told Deník.
He started this season very well, after five rounds he has eight points on his account. “We are satisfied so far. We are mainly managing to collect points, which is the main thing. Last year we had six points after twelve games. Now we take it with humility. We must continue to work honestly in training and matches. It is necessary to build on the good start in the next matches,” added Kubista.
