Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) regularly reviews several stocks in the LQ45 index. Some were kicked out, some stayed. Usually, removal from the LQ45 list is due to depleting trading liquidity or poor company performance.
The major evaluation is carried out to select the index constituent stocks for the next period accompanied by adjusting the number of shares for the index and the weight of the constituents.
The LQ45 index is an index that measures the price performance of 45 stocks that have high liquidity and large market capitalization and are supported by good company fundamentals.
As is known, stocks that enter the LQ45 index are often the target of investors. The IDX calculates the entry of a number of stocks into the LQ45 index with a one-year average daily trading value and market capitalization.
If it is withdrawn, in the February-July 2021 period, there are two stocks that are included in the LQ45 index stock list. The shares include PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) and PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk. (TPA). Meanwhile, the shares issued were PT Surya Citra Media Tbk. (SCMA) and PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk. (SRIL).
Then, when the IDX reshuffles the LQ45 index constituents, what issuers or sectors have the potential to be included in the index for the next period, August 2021-January 2022?
