A troubled child sent to a juvenile boarding school, Marvin K. disappeared in June 2017, when he was 13 years old
A man was sentenced today to 9 years in prison in Germany for aggravated sexual abuse of a teenager who was accidentally found in a closet in his home two years after his disappearance, AFP reported.
Finding the boy in 2019 stunned the whole of Germany and reminded of the case of Natasha Kampusch – an Austrian teenager held by her abductor for 8 years before she managed to escape in 2006.
A court in the western German city of Bochum sentenced the pedophile Lars H. to 9 years behind bars, but deprived him of the right to apply for parole, which in practice, under German law, sentenced him to life in prison.
The 46-year-old man was found guilty of sexually abusing Marvin K., whom he kept in his home from mid-2017 until the time when the boy was accidentally found in December 2019.
A troubled child sent to a boarding school for minors, Marvin K. disappeared in June 2017, when he was 13 years old.
The teenager was found in the home of Lars H. in the western city of Recklinghausen, hidden in a closet, during a police search on suspicion of possession of pornographic materials.
During the pre-trial proceedings, Lars H. admitted that he had sexual intercourse with Marvin K., but claimed that they were initiated by the boy.
Marvin was invited to testify in camera behind closed doors. After being found in the pedophile’s home, he was placed in a specialized institution for receiving psychological help.
In the period before the boy lived in his home, the pedophile gave him money and cigarettes.
As the investigation into Marvin’s disappearance was stalled, the teenager’s mother and sister appealed to potential witnesses on the popular show “Aktenzeichen XY”, which tries to solve cases of unknown people.
