An invoice for over BGN 300 for a 16-hour hospital stay. A patient complained that he received the bill after refusing to be operated on, in his opinion, unnecessarily, BTV reports.
On July 11, Tsvetan Tsolov went to the capital transport hospital for an examination due to swelling and redness of the right foot. From there he was referred to “Pirogov”, where he was admitted. A visit follows the next day.
“They reached me and shouted – who is Tsvetan Tsolov, it’s me. That was it, nothing more. He didn’t look at my leg, he didn’t say that’s what we’re going to do, or we’re going to cut, he didn’t tell me that I’m the treating doctor, absolutely nothing. Nobody told me anything. And after the visitation, at 9:30 a.m., a nurse comes and calls Stoyan and Tsvetan, come with me, they will perform an operation on you,” said Tsvetan Tsolov.
The man refuses because he is afraid that because of the diabetes he suffers from, his wound will not heal.
“Then the senior nurse heard me and shouted – you pay for the clinical path, where you lay, the examinations. I asked her TELK? As soon as you shout, you refuse, the wire does not apply, you pay for the clinical path on a general basis”, added Tsvetan.
Thus, the man understands that he owes a total of BGN 334, of which BGN 120 for consultation with a doctor and BGN 100 for a stay.
“What are these prices, if I were at sea, I would have paid less. I am also outraged by this – I have 43 years of work experience, I am insured, I have 100 percent TELK, and finally, as a health insured, they charge me so much money for unfinished work, only that they accepted me and I overslept,” the man complained.
He seeks help at the hospital in Mezdra, where it is clear that for now an operation is not necessary and his condition is improving. “Pirogov” Hospital said that an internal investigation into the case has been appointed.
