TRIBUNPEKANBARU.COM – Incident cell phone on fire in the plane cabin again happened. This time it happened in the cabin of a US airline, Alaska Airlines.
The cellphone that caught fire on the plane was rumored to be Samsung Galaxy A21.
The burning cellphone emitted smoke in the aircraft cabin, the cabin crew opened the door and developed an escape slide.
Passengers were evacuated and asked to get off the plane.
This incident began when the flight number 751 for the New Orleans-Seattle route had just landed at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, last Monday (23/8/2021).
Suddenly, the cellphone that was in the storage area above the passenger caught fire and emitted thick smoke.
Alaska Airlines flight crew then deployed Fire extinguishers and put the burning cell phone in a special fireproof bag.
According to Seattle airport spokesman Perry Cooper, the phone could not be identified because it had been charred.
“During an interview with a Port of Seattle Police officer, the owner of the cell phone stated it was Samsung Galaxy A21. But we can’t confirm (the model of the phone) just by looking at the remains of the device,” Cooper explained.
