A passenger train has derailed in Norway, says the Norwegian broadcasting company NRK. Norwegian media VG also reported on the matter. The train was on its way from Trondheim to the city of Bodø, and derailed on the track section between the cities of Bjerka and Mo i Rana.
The police confirm that the locomotive driver has been found dead. His next of kin have been informed of the incident. In addition, three people have been taken to the hospital and one to the emergency room. Their condition is not life-threatening.
According to the police, at the moment it seems that the accident was caused by a rockslide that happened on the tracks, reports NRK.
According to VG, both the train’s locomotive and the first carriage derailed. The accident happened around 14:15 local time.

There were approximately 50–70 passengers on the train at the time of the accident. There are rescue personnel, policemen and firefighters at the scene of the accident. In addition, rescue and ambulance helicopters have arrived at the scene.
A major accident warning has been issued at Helgeland Hospital.
