An An-26 aircraft carrying passenger traffic between the two ends of the Kamchatka Peninsula has lost contact with radars.

This was announced by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which quoted Russian media.

According to preliminary data, the plane has 22 passengers (including one child) and a crew of six, according to RIA Novosti.

The flight from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (the regional capital in southeastern Kamchatka) to Palana in the north may have landed near a coal mine near its final destination or at sea, according to other Russian media reports.
