A partnership to consider occupational health and safety as an “essential” skill

With a view to continuing to prevent occupational risks over and over again, and in this case in the context of vocational training in construction trades, representatives of the Professional Organization for the Prevention of Building and Public Works (OPPBTP) and of the Construction Apprenticeship Consultation and Coordination Committee (CCCA-BTP) signed a four-year partnership agreement on November 24. Its purpose: to include occupational health and safety issues as a professional competence “essential”. Already involved in joint actions since 2005, the two organizations consider that risk prevention enables companies in the sector to innovate while remaining efficient.

Seven themes “priority”

Paul Duphil, secretary general of the OPPBTP, Giovanni Verrecchia, president of the OPPBTP, Éric Routier, president of the CCCA-BTP and Didier Bouvelle, general secretary of the CCCA-BTP, have thus ratified this convention which is broken down into seven themes presented. like “priority”. First, integrate and promote risk prevention in teaching in the construction trades, through support guides, new diplomas or articles related to educational orientations, all developed in a common way. “The CCCA-BTP undertakes to develop the expected performance criteria for the quality control of apprenticeship training, and the OPPBTP provides its expertise for risk prevention, to ultimately jointly produce a benchmark of audit of the performance criteria of training organizations for construction trades “, can we also read in a communique common to the two organizations.

Calls for projects and applications integrating the occupational health and safety dimension will also be organized, in parallel with operations to promote and deploy existing tools to all training organizations. According to the same press release, “the CCCA-BTP will develop and disseminate educational resources, including in particular immersive modalities”, when “the OPPBTP will mobilize its teams to contribute to the scripting of training modules integrating health and safety at work”. Educational workshops and other dedicated modules should also be offered to trainers in order to develop their skills. Finally, the two organizations will commit to developing the Health-Prevention Accelerator in the construction industry, which they jointly created in 2018 with the insurer Pro-BTP and the Fondation Excellence SMA. This will notably result in webinars, conferences or publications.

“By pooling the pedagogical and educational expertise of our association with joint governance with those of the OPPBTP in terms of prevention, this new cooperation aims to intensify the integration of occupational risk prevention at the heart of training for construction trades”, reacted on this occasion the president of the CCCA-BTP, Éric Routier.
