The attractive Veliko Tarnovo resident Tsvetelina Tomium, who is participating in the last season of “Master Chef”, has decided to make the people accommodated in the homeless shelter in Gorna Oryahovitsa happy with a festive dinner. Her desire is provoked by making the inhabitants happy with difficult fates, left without relatives and home at the Christmas holidays. So she plans with her husband and their three children to prepare the table together for Christmas Eve, and then to celebrate the holiday together.
“Tsveti wants to share the holiday with all these people. We will observe all anti-epidemic measures. They have been vaccinated, have green certificates, and here they will fill in declarations that they have no symptoms. Ready-made food will also be imported with certificates,” she said. Gorna Oryahovitsa Silvia Raykova.
14 are currently residents of the municipal shelter, but three are in hospital with chronic diseases. For Christmas Eve, Tsveti decided to plan the menu herself, provide the products and prepare the dinner. He will include his son and two daughters in the initiative, as he believes that it is important for children to be socially engaged in various causes that will help them develop as individuals.
This is not the first charity initiative that Tsveti is committed to. She has lived for more than 20 years on three continents. He first lived in the United States and then in Thailand, where he opened a pastry shop with the local evangelical church and trained trafficked women to make desserts. Returning to her hometown three years ago, Tsveti once again wants to be useful and participate in charitable initiatives. This is how the idea for the charity dinner at the shelter for the homeless in Gorna Oryahovitsa was born. The social service was opened in the summer of 2018, and so far over 160 people have passed through it.
The shelter enjoys the help of donors who provide them with meat, fruits and vegetables, but due to the ever-increasing prices of many foods, they have announced that they need durable products such as beans, lentils, oil, etc., as well as hygiene materials. . In just a few days, however, more than 100 donors showed up, literally flooding the home with products.
“Now they have been procured for more than two months, and we will probably have legumes by September. People and organizations have opened their hearts to help anyone with as much as they can. An elderly man, trembling, came and brought a bag of food, we invited him to sit down , but he left without saying a word “, the shelter team was moved.
Shipments and parcels continue to arrive on site with courier companies. The Dalans of Zonta Club also brought personal advice to each of the residents. However, Silvia Raykova says with gratitude that they do not need more food, they even redirect the benefactors to other social services in the city, which are also in a difficult situation.
