A Paris-New York flight diverted to Brest after a passenger’s discomfort

The Air France flight had left Charles de Gaulle airport in the early afternoon and had to turn around to land at Brest airport for “medical reasons”.

An Air France flight was diverted to Brest airport on Wednesday, for “Medical reasons”, has learned Le Figaro from the airline.

The Paris-New York flight had left Charles de Gaulle at 2:52 p.m. and was due to land at JF Kennedy Airport at 4:55 p.m. New York time. The Boeing 777 was however forced to turn around over the Atlantic, to land around 5 p.m. at Brest-Bretagne airport.

“The state of health of a passenger required emergency medical assistance”, said Air France. The passenger would have felt unwell and was taken care of by the emergency services on his arrival in Brest. The airline did not give further details, however.

The flight was to leave around 6:45 p.m. once the emergency services had left and should therefore be significantly delayed on arrival in New York.
