An exceptional work

“Belonging to his series of red paintings, it constitutes one of the most beautiful elements, thanks to its flamboyant palette, its explosive energy and its remarkable force of presence. The effects of matter were obtained thanks to the technique of scraping, which reveals the red tints present under the black paint. “

Before belonging to its current owner, the painting was at the Sam Kootz Gallery in New York and was part of major retrospectives dedicated to the artist in the 1960s, in Houston, Paris and Montreal.
