Want to save Afghan guitarists
Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello asks for help at a guitar school for orphaned girls in Afghanistan, in an open letter in Billboard.
The girls have made remote recordings with Rage Against The Machine, Brian Wilson and Nick Cave, reports SVT.
Now the school is destroyed and the girls are hiding from the Taliban. Morello writes that the girls are extremely vulnerable, since they are known for having performed Western music and had a male, American teacher.
The letter is aimed at the music industry, and the hope is to be able to evacuate the 12 current students, their families and the school’s driver.
