A newborn nurse cares for a baby three decades after caring for her father | International

More than three decades ago, specifically in 1986, the American David Caldwell was born six weeks ahead of schedule at the University Hospital of Saint Peter from New Jersey (United States). For the same reason, and due to its often size, those responsible for the hospital decided to leave the newborn in the hands of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

There he would meet the young nurse Lissa McGowan who, three decades later, has once again been fundamental in his life. Just a few days ago, David Caldwell has returned to the same hospital where he was born to meet his firstborn Zayne. A child who, like David himself, also came into the world ahead of schedule. Specifically ten weeks, for which he had to enter the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where his father stayed during his first weeks of life.

De David a Zayne

After leaving the hospital, and leaving your child in the hands of one of the nurses, the couple decided to consult David’s old photo album to verify the resemblance between the father and his son.

After seeing some pictures from when he was just a newborn, the woman, Renata Freydin, discovered a photograph in which a nurse could be seen holding little David in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

a picture for the history

A nurse who, oddly enough, looked too much like the woman who now cared for Zayne in the hospital. For that same reason, the couple decided to take the photograph to the hospital to find out if it was Lissa McGowan. After showing the photo to several nurses, they all agreed that it was the same nurse who sustained him three decades ago.

After telling the story to the nurse, she suggested they take a picture similar to the one they removed in 1986. All this to immortalize the passage of time and complete a photograph that, in a matter of days, would go viral. Speaking to Good Morning America, the nurse has pronounced on this historical moment: “It is unusual to meet a premature baby 34 years later. Even more so that he is the father of a new premature baby.”
