And according to the site “Wabetainfo”, which tracks features and updates Whatsapp New, WhatsApp has now released a new update for some users on the Microsoft App Store and thanks to this update, Windows computer users can share contact cards directly, via the chat share sheet along with the option to create polls and share files.
WhatsApp launches the ability to share contact cards
The screenshot shared by “Wabetainfo” shows the “Contacts” entry point if it is already enabled for WhatsApp beta on Windows. When using this feature, you will be able to share a contact card via the desktop version so that the recipient can easily add it to the address book, similar to what happens on the smartphone version of the app.
The ability to share contact cards has been released to some beta users after installing the WhatsApp for Windows beta update, number 2.2247.2.0 available from the Microsoft Store, and will be rolled out to more beta testers in the coming days.
Interestingly, WhatsApp is working on a new privacy feature for the desktop web version of WhatsApp, which will give desktop users the ability to enable screen locks on laptops and computers.
This feature is useful for those who share their computers with others, and the screen lock setting within the WhatsApp settings will reach Windows and Mac computer users soon, and it is an optional feature and you will need to activate it manually and every time that you open your account on WhatsApp via the web version. You will need to enter a password to access it.
