A new waste management site will be built in Riga – Riga City Council

The interim administration of Riga municipality today supported the establishment of a new waste management site in Riga, Meldru Street 3, the agency was informed by the public relations department of Riga City Council.

The municipality received an application from SIA “Tolmets” with a request to make a decision on the establishment of a new waste management site.

The company plans to start collecting, reloading, sorting, cutting and storing scrap metal in the territory of the Freeport of Riga in two areas, which are 8000 and 7000 square meters.

The planned total amount of scrap metal is up to 300,000 tons per year.

The company at Meldru Street 3 intends to accept and prepare for transportation recycled scrap metal from manufacturing companies of various profiles and legal entities that have received a license for the purchase of ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap and scrap metal in Latvia.
