A new video shows the exact moment of the arrest of the Sevillian actress María León, during the incident carried out on October 1, 2022 with the Local Police. In the video, to which this newspaper has had access, the moments prior to the arrest of the actress are observed, when several friends of María León protest before the agents who they are proceeding to arrest him and put him in shackles.
The images were provided to the Seville Examining Judge number 18 by a witness who gave a statement before the judge on February 22. The recording, of 39 seconds long, begins with a friend of María León who tells the local police officers that “don’t touch her”.
Next, one observes that of the agents who are helping to other local police officers -who are the ones who are arresting the actress- who are asking María León’s friends to move away from the area and that they do not interfere in police action. “Don’t let anyone come near here!”says one of these agents.
One of the companions does not stop protesting and one of the policemen warns him on several occasions: “Are you going to be quiet now or are you coming arrested?“. Maria’s friend replies: “Don’t do that to him” “I’m going to stop”, while points to the agent with the index finger and insists: “Don’t do that to him”alluding to the time of María’s arrest and when the agents are proceeding to place the shackles on her.
In the middle of this dialogue, another young man is seen falling to the ground and a struggle with the agents is observed. Then another agent asks his friends to let his colleagues act. “Don’t come near I’m telling you, Don’t come near I’m telling you, damn… the colleagues are working! Don’t let anyone come near!”repeats this policeman.
The video ends when the agent moves the testigo, RGR, who is recording the video and you see how his mobile phone falls to the ground and the video goes black.
This new recording was delivered by the witness to the court in her statement on February 22 and has been incorporated into the summary of the case, which contains three other videos provided by the defense of María León.
In these three previous videos, which logically do not include all the facts, one of the agents can be seen telling the actress that “in the end she will end up arrested tonight”. Some of the people who accompanied the Sevillian – they all came from celebrating the end of a shoot on a terrace on Avenida de María Luisa – tell María León to leave. “Mary go away!” comments one of the companions on several occasions, while trying to remove her from the place, but the young woman insists that she does not leave, because she hasn’t done anything and the “they have locked up”.
The videos, which can be seen along with this information, end with the arrival of a Local Police agent, who blurted out: “Miss, you are going to be arrested!” to which María León responds by asking “because?” and the agent replies “just because”.
