Viewers have been able to see the history of the District Council since 2014, as well as its activities. Finally, in the upper front part of the vehicle, a retractable awning allows the inhabitants to sit in shelter from the sun or rain.
250 projects in four years
Divided into six blocks (read elsewhere), the District Council is organized under the leadership of three elected representatives present at the baptism of October 18. They share two each: Jean-Paul Dospital (islands A and B), Caroline Oustalet (islands C and D) and Jean-Paul Gourgues (islands E and F).
The council of each ensemble is made up of 6 members nominated by the mayor and 12 volunteers chosen by lot, for a total of 180. They meet every two months and, of course, participate in the three annual public neighborhood meetings. They are elected for three years. The renewal will take place next year.
“In addition to the Councils that meet every two months, three meetings and a daily listening, we therefore offer this mobile service”, recalled the Mayor of Anglet, Claude Olive, before continuing: “Since 2014, 250 projects have been launched by the directors: from the creation of green spaces such as the Giardino del Fine to the reflection of the cycling plan or even the participation in the attentive Voisins. More than 200 sets of interviews and complaints have been launched per year. It is a remarkable work of proximity. This proximity will be accentuated, in the coming days, from the launch of a City of Anglet application ”.
Living conditions and environment
All these six islets illustrate the angloy geographic mosaic. The common goal of the Councils: to improve living conditions and the environment. Jean Paul Ospital, between the tourist area with the Chamber of Love and the North with its industrial front beyond Adour and its environmental associations; Caroline Oustalet on a horizontal central line, between the north and south islets, whose large project, at the end of the mandate, of the swimming pool, created a land with vegetation in Rue Justin-Larrebat.
Several problems for Jean-Paul Gourgues, employed by Sutar to open and rehabilitate the Houdaro laundry, but also to manage the coexistence of the bulk of the buildings with the Leclerc companies in Anglet-Saint-Jean that crystallize acts of incivility. And it is a vast construction site.
