THEY LOOK LIKE NEPTUNE
Madhusudhan, who coined the term Hyecan from the words hydrogen and ocean, said he and his colleagues began searching for new planets while working on a potentially habitable mini-Neptune known as K2-18b.
Explaining that thousands of exoplanets have been found since the 1990s, Madhusudhan reported that they focused on mini-Neptunes, which are smaller than Neptune but about 2.5 times the Earth, for the new research.
