Zelensky approved a new state award

The distinction of the National Legend of Ukraine will be awarded on the occasion of the Independence Day to people who have contributed to the formation, development and strengthening of the country.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the regulation on the new state insignia National legend of Ukraine, which will be awarded once a year. This was announced on Monday, August 16, by the press service of the President’s Office.
It is noted that the head of state also approved the drawing of this insignia and the drawing of the sample form of the diploma to it.
State award National legend of Ukraine can be obtained by citizens of Ukraine and foreigners or stateless persons.
They can receive this award for:

personal merits in the formation of independent Ukraine;

personal merits in strengthening its statehood, defending the fatherland and serving the Ukrainian people;
-
a significant contribution to the development of the national economy, science, education, culture, art, sports, health care, as well as for active charitable and social activities.
The insignia will be gold and will look like a stylized flower, the petals of which are covered with blue and yellow enamel. The center of the award contains a relief image of the Sign of the princely state of Vladimir the Great.
The award will be worn on the left chest and, if the recipient has other state insignia, they will be placed below the award signs on the blocks (ribbons) and after the stars of the orders.
To award a badge of distinction National legend of Ukraine the president of Ukraine will be his decree annually on the occasion of the Independence Day.
It was previously reported that Zelensky presented a medal to a girl from Transcarpathiawho saved her brother and three neighbour’s children during the July floods.
Before that Zelensky awarded orders and medals to 12 military… Two military men were awarded orders posthumously, ten more defenders received medals for military service to Ukraine and the Defender of the Fatherland.
